LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Ask any world-class athlete about the key elements to their training and preparation, and invariably you will hear the word “recovery.”
Pushing the limits is important in reaching the next level of sport performance, and rest and recovery are key components to that success. The athletes of USA Luge have added Rapid Reboot into their recovery to continue performing at the highest level.
“I found Rapid Reboot at the National Athletic Trainers Association Convention this past June. They have been great to work with,” said Addie Lucci, High Performance Medical Provider and National Team Head Athletic Trainer for USA Luge. “I know that our athletes are big on recovery and I wanted to make sure we have everything we need to be successful while on tour. We use the system after sliding sessions and/or weightlifting sessions to get the muscle soreness relief to be able to perform.”
“We’re excited to work more closely and formally with another sanctioned USA team,” said Robbie Jenkins, Chief Marketing Officer for Rapid Reboot. “USA Luge has always competed at a high level on the international stage, and we’re confident Rapid Reboot will deliver that edge on the ice to take the organization and its athletes to the next level.”
Rapid Reboot is an FDA cleared medical system that provides dynamic, intermittent compression. This is a medically proven modality for relieving muscle aches and pains, such as delayed onset muscle soreness, and increasing circulation.
Specifically, it dramatically improves lymphatic drainage and boosts blood circulation, driving higher volumes of oxygen-rich blood to the muscles as they rebuild. This accelerates recovery, so athletes can return to training and competition sooner. General research into dynamic compression has also revealed additional benefits, such as mitigating stiffness, increasing range of motion, reducing swelling, and enhancing muscle performance.
This key component to USA Luge’s training and preparation was added over the summer and is anticipated to make a difference when the team hits the ice, starting in Lillehammer, Norway, in early October.
About Rapid Reboot
Rapid Reboot facilitates rapid recovery by providing athletes quality, dynamic compression designed to relieve muscle stiffness and soreness. This translates to more efficient recovery and more time to train, helping athletes be ready to thrive when the pressure of the moment is on.
